Lesson 3 - Drawing multiple functions

If you want to draw more than one function on the same plot, you can add as many as you want on the Data tab in the Oberon Function Plotter dialog. Here is how you can do it:

  1. Click on the Function Plotter icon on the Tool bar in CorelDRAW.
  2. Hold down the Shift key and click Reset button to reset all the project settings to their default values.
  3. Go to Data tab and select the function Plot1 in the list.
  4. Change the name of the plot by entering Sin in the Name field of Plot Properties.
  5. Click Line button and specify 2.0 point width for the function curve.
  6. Enter the following values:
    • Y(t) = sin(t*4)*exp(-t/8)
    • T From = 0
    • T To = 6*pi
    • T Step = (To-From)/200
  7. Put a checkmark into Same T for All Plots checkbox.
  8. Click New button to add another plot to the project.
  9. Change its name to Envelope1 by entering the new name in the Name field.

  10. Change the line style to Blue, Dashed, 0.5 pt.
  11. Enter the following formula in the Y(t) field: exp(-t/8)

  12. Click the New button again to duplicate the last function.

  13. Change Y(t) field of the new plot to -exp(-t/8).
  14. The dialog should look like this:
  15. Click Generate! to produce the following nice drawing in CorelDRAW:
