Day Planner PropertiesA day planner layout in Oberon Calendar Wizard 4.0 can have one or two "sub-pages", that is a two page layout can be placed on a single sheet of pages as a spread. In this case, both left and right portion of the page have their own layout properties and can be customized independently. When the day planner layout is selected, there is a Day Planner tab in the main dialog of Calendar Wizard which provides access to all the planner properties:
When Two Page Layout is selected, then two independent layouts are placed on a page which can simulate double page layout (both page represent the same day though). If the Two Page Layout is enabled, then the Gutter value determines the spacing between the two pages. Note that in the Day Planner layout the overall page background specified by the Background frame button in the main dialog determines the background of each "page" of the two-page planner. The gutter area does not have any background. The Left Page properties (and the Right Page properties if Two Page Layout is enabled) display all the properties of the planner page:
This dialog has two tabs and a large preview area to show the current page layout. Each day planner page consists of three distinct areas:
The Body tab specifies the properties of the body of the page. The body area can contains empty lines for notes or a timetable or even can be left blank. Frame specifies the background and border properties of the body are. The Content list has the following options: "Empty", "Lines", "Time Table". If either Lines or Time Table is selected then the body contains a set of horizontal lines providing space for notes or schedule. The number of lines is determined either by the Line Count control (for the Lines mode) or the Time Span controls (for Time Table mode) In Time Table mode the Time Labels group specify the font and frame properties of the time labels for each line as well as the text position on the page. When modifying the time label properties, sometimes it is difficult to see the labels on the preview because they may be too small. If this is the case, then depress the Preview button in the Time Labels group to zoom in at one time label. It will be displayed in the preview window and can be easily adjusted to look exactly the way you want. The second tab of the dialog contains properties of the header and the footer:
The header contains information such as the day, month and day of week, holidays and other information about the day. The footer may contain two small calendar blocks for the previous/next months. When you click the Edit header properties button, the following dialog appears:
The header area can be divided in three sub-areas:
The information about these three area are presented on separate dialog pages in the tab strip. Orientation specifies the side on which the day cell is displayed. It could be Left or Right. Show Day Cell and Show Day Information show or hide the respective header areas. On the Day Cell tab, a set of controls in Normal/Weekend/Holiday tab strip specifies the day cell border, background and font properties for each day type. Text Alignment specifies the alignment of the text within the text cell. Highlight Holidays/Highlight Weekends control whether the day cells are painted using different styles depending on the day type or if the normal day properties are to be used. Day Information controls are placed in the two Day Info tab pages:
Day Of Week controls specify the font and style of the day of the week word displayed in the header. Month / Year controls specify whether the current month name and/or the year should be displayed. If either Day of week or month/year (or both) is specified, then Week/Month Position can be used to specify the vertical position of the day of week and month/year text. Show Holidays specifies whether the holidays (events marked as Holiday) are to be displayed. Show Events controls whether other events (without Holiday attribute) are displayed in the header.
Day Of Year specifies whether the day number of the year and/or the number of day till the end of the year should be shown in the header. Week Number shows or hides the current week number. Lunar Phases allow to show the phases of the moon on certain day pages. It is possible to show a small calendar block for the current month in the header as well. This is available on the Small Calendar tab:
When Edit button is pressed, the standard Small Calendar Properties dialog appears. |
